Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and music producer. Raised by her mother in the USA she was subject to many racial slurs that made her feel being unwelcome. Her confidence began to grow at the age of nineteen when she entered a school audition and was highly praised by the judges for her vocal ability. It not only boosted her confidence but also shifted her goals for the future. She attended the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. But her biggest break came when she starred in the character in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway show Spamalot winning not just her the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC, she gained greater recognition. In addition to having a cult following as a singer, she also released her own solo album as well as an extended version. She is also an activist and works extensively in the field of LGBT rights.
