Lita Rossana Ford Also known as Lita Ford, is an American guitar player and singer who was born in Britain. She played lead guitar in The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all girls from the 1970s. Their punkish music and raunchy lyrics made them not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. The band was never able to the band to be a major hit in America but they gained a lot of acclaim in other nations, especially Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. After taking voice lessons, she released her debut self-titled album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin on the Edge". Ford disappeared from rock for a few years following her albums didn't gain much popularity. It was 1988 when she debuted her most successful album "Lita". The single 'Kiss Me Deadly and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever' were both big success. However, her fame was short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. In 1995, she released "Black" and fifteen years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
